Trivia Time

Here's some trivia you might not know.

The medical show Quincy M.E. that ran from late 70's to early 80's did a two week special on rare diseases. Because of their episodes people in the community started giving money to the rare disease foundation. Jack Klugman who plays Quincy went to congress and spoke on the subject of rare disease. As a result there was enough money given to the rare disease foundation that they were able to make the first drug for rare disease called Hematin. Hematin is like a blood transfusion for people with Porphyria. This is the only medically approved treatment for porphyria. Who said one person couldn't make a difference.
